Ömer Kurtuluş

Istanbul, Türkiye

Ömer Kurtuluş is a composer, music technologist and sound artist based in Istanbul. His work is sonic archaeology: composing by excavating an over-saturated archive — instruments heard as the bodies and uses that made them, cities as layers of sound. He writes for acoustic instruments, live electronics (Max/MSP, FluCoMa, Somax2, RAVE) and multichannel and ambisonic fixed media, often in graphic and proportional notation. In 2027 he is a selected participant of the .abeceda Institute residency at the Seventh Bled Contemporary Music Week.
