Privacy
Minimal data
Data that is never collected never needs protecting, so we ask only for what the service needs.
What data, and why
- Required: display name, email, country, city; instrument(s) for performers. For profiles, search and the introduction email.
- Sign-in: if you sign up with Google, we receive only your name and email address from Google — nothing else. You can also sign up with your email and a one-time login link.
- Optional: profile photo, short biography, website, a portfolio link (public), audio/video and recording links, line-ups.
- Never asked: phone number, date of birth, address, ID number.
Who sees what
Name, city, instrument and biography are public. Email addresses appear on no page; they are shared with the other side only in the introduction email, once both sides accept.
Profile photo
A photo is optional: we ask for one when you sign up, but you do not have to add it. If you do, it is public on your profile and in the lists on the site. Before it is uploaded, your browser crops it to a square from the centre and resizes it to 800 × 800 pixels; only this resized copy is stored, and your original file never reaches our server. You can replace or remove it at any time under My profile in your dashboard; removing it deletes the file. Deleting your account deletes your photo too. While a profile is hidden, its photo does not appear on any public page either.
Where it is stored
Data is kept on Cloudflare infrastructure (database and file storage); notification emails are sent through an email service. These services are located outside Türkiye. Data is transferred to them only to run the site; this is stated clearly on the sign-up form before an account is created, and no account is opened until the privacy notice is accepted.
Mail records
So that our editors can see what was sent and answer questions, we keep a copy of the emails the site sends (with their links removed, so login links are never stored) and of the mail that reaches our info@ address. These copies are deleted automatically 6 months after they were logged. Mail to info@ is also forwarded to our email inbox.
Feedback and reports
When you send feedback or report an Agora Stage listing, we keep the message, the page it was sent from and, if you are signed in, your account; only our editors see them. No email address is kept unless you add one to your feedback because you would like a reply, and it is used only for that reply. To prevent repeated sending, a summary of your IP address that changes every day is kept; the address itself is not stored.
Supporters are thanked by name on the How it works page only if they wish; a name is removed on request.
Saved searches and alert emails
If a performer saves a search on the Works page, we keep only the filter (instrument, line-up, duration, difficulty range and whether unrated works are included) and when it was saved — at most ten searches. When a new work that matches joins the site, we send at most one email a day. Composers get at most one email a day when a new wanted notice fits one of their public works; for this we keep only their on/off choice and the time of the last email (so that no more than one goes out a day).
Performers who chose the newsletter receive a monthly email about new works awaiting their first performance; we record which month it was sent and to how many people, and we do not track who opens it. Every one of these emails has a one-click link to stop it, no login needed; you can also change searches and choices in your dashboard. A deleted search is deleted from our records; deleting your account deletes your searches and choices too.
If a composer ticks “This work has already been performed” for a work, this is kept with the work, and its page does not show the “Awaiting first performance” badge.

Your rights (KVKK and GDPR)
You can see, correct, download and delete your data. Your dashboard has two buttons under My profile: Download my data and Delete my account. Extras such as a newsletter ask for separate consent.
Download my data gives you, at once, one JSON file with everything the site holds about that account: your profile details (including whether you have a profile photo and, if so, its address); for composers, your works (their details, statuses and dates, and the links to their preview images); for performers, your repertoire, wanted notices and saved searches; the requests you sent and received (commission offers, “I’m interested”, offers to write and work proposals) — with the other member’s name and profile link, never their email address; performances recorded on the site; your alert choices, your newsletter setting, any feedback or reports you sent while signed in, and your supporter name if it is on the thank-you list. Full score files are not in it: they are used only for rating and are deleted afterwards.
Delete my account first asks you to type the account’s display name, then deletes that account only; if the same email address has both a composer and a performer account, the other one stays. Deleted at once: the profile and its photo, your works and all their files (preview images and any full score still stored), repertoire, wanted notices, saved searches, alert choices and sign-in sessions; performances recorded for your works go with them. Requests still waiting for an answer are withdrawn. Where another member is involved too — an introduction that has already happened, a performance of their work that you played — their side stays, and you appear as “a former member”, without your name, profile or the notes you wrote. Feedback and reports you sent are kept, no longer linked to your account. A short confirmation email goes to your address, and you are signed out. The supporter thank-you list is not linked to accounts; a name is removed on request. The editor account cannot be deleted this way.
