About
The Agora of New Music is a free meeting place for composers and performers of contemporary music. There are no prizes, no juries and no entry fees here — only works waiting to be played and performers ready to play them.
Why the Agora exists
- 01
Every year, composers and performers graduate. Composers are asked to prove the works they spent years on through competitions and residencies, and the music that does not get through waits in a drawer. Performers want new repertoire but do not know where to find works that fit their level and their line-up.
- 02
The Agora was opened so that the two can reach each other directly. Composers present their work; performers find it by level and line-up, or commission something new; both are introduced by email. Presenting work, finding work and being matched are free.
